Welcome, the 2022-2024 Artist as Changemaker Residency Cohort! In September 2022 the Trico Changemaker Studio, in partnership with the Calgary Arts Development, welcomed 6 new artists and 2 returning artists to the Artist as Changemaker Residency program.

During the 2022 fall semester at Mount Royal University, students in the Journalism and Digital Media and Broadcasting programs, partnered with the Changemakers Studio and the Calgary Foundation to find examples of local changemakers.

After two-years, the Anitopisi Student Leadership Program has come to a close. Launched in 2020, Anitopisi is a co-curricular leadership program that is situated at the intersection of reconciliation and changemaking. In May April 2023 we completed the 2-year pilot and wanted to share some of our journey and learnings with you.

On March 1st we launched the Changemaker Book Club in the Studio! If you weren’t part of the conversation we hope you might consider joining us in person at noon on Wednesday, March 22 and April 26 when we continue to discuss the book Change – How to Make Big Things Happen by Damon Centola.

Steacy Pinney is our most recent Changemaker in Residence at the Trico Changemakers Studio. Steacy was formally the CEO of Calgary Reads, which is currently going through its Dandelion strategy and working with Seed Partners across Calgary to expand the impact of children learning to read. We asked Steacy a few questions to get to know her better and understand how this new role is fitting for her.
